Our Background...
USS Shackle Holdings, LLC came about when Twin Ports Division was seeking it's first vessel in early 2016. As you probably guessed, it was the USS Shackle/USCGC Acushnet. Members of Twin Ports Division traveled to Anacortes, Washington that year to inspect and OPTEST equipment on the ship to find out it's general material condition. Once everything checked our mechanically, the Division agreed with the owners on an offer for the ship and Twin Ports Division went to work to secure funding for the ship. During that process, the ship was bought under from them by a third-party interest. Twin Ports Division has been seeking another suitable ship for their permanent duty station since the closure of their reserve center.

In honor of the legendary ship, the 501(C)3 was named after it. In order for individual commands of the Navy Cadet Corps to own property, items, equipment, a separate financial institution must be in place to handle these subjects.
